REGISTERED SOCIAL WORKER

Jason is a registered social worker and registered yoga teacher who has been supporting individuals with mental health and addiction recovery for over five years. He uses creative strategies, somatic breath work, and yoga movement to enhance traditional psychotherapy conversations. His lived experiences with his own restorative health journey will ensure that he brings empathy and trust to the therapeutic relationship.

Jason has worked with individuals in various clinical settings from adult hospital psychiatric mental health to youth in community-based settings. He appreciates the authenticity of the human condition and uses an integrative and eclectic approach to address reducing undesirable symptoms while enhancing innate personal strengths. Jason believes in the importance of exploring a holistic health approach where emotions, personal values, social connections, and spirituality can also have a meaningful place in the healing process.

There are a variety of evidence-based modalities that he incorporates including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), narrative theory, mindfulness strategies, and body-centred somatic therapy. These strategies offer people a path to embrace change in order to thrive even in the presence of internalized. Some areas of passion include empowering folks living with mood disorders, depression and anxiety, struggles with gender identity and sexuality, complex trauma or PTSD experiences, family of origin conflicts, substance use or behavioural addictive disorders, acceptance of HIV and other chronic diseases, embracing neurodivergence and ADHD experiences, grief or loss, and confidence or self-esteem issues. With support, clients can tackle limiting belief systems so they can improve long-term quality of life outcomes.

Jason has practiced yoga for over 20 years and has received instruction for mindfulness, meditation, and yoga in Canada, Panama, and India. Should clients feel inclined, he would love to discuss the benefits of incorporating the Harmonic Egg’s unique light and sound technology. Additionally, sessions can incorporate activating or grounding breathwork techniques or customized yoga poses to encourage inner healing.

Jason is currently available to see you for psychotherapy and counselling services.
